Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes in both the extrusion and plastic processing departments. You'll make sure goods and services are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality.

You will ensure:

That our products leave the factory on time and of a high quality.
That you maintain a high level of health and safety whilst at work.
That you take care of your own health and safety as well as that of your fellow workers by working in a tidy considerate manner.
That you ensure that all employees are trained in line with operating procedures and where procedures do not exist then develop them.
Management of the site admin team again ensuring that materials are ordered on time and for the correct price.
Management of all staff and the facility ensuring that any issues are resolved in a timely manner.


Strong leadership skills to lead and develop the production team in a start-up scenario, with an ability to mentor and develop the team effectively.
A strong no compromise approach to health and safety and environmental compliance
A good knowledge of relevant legislation that relates to the operation of Polymers Recycling Facility or similar reprocessing facilities
Planning and Organising production schedules
Assessing project and resource requirements including shift plans.
Ensuring that already defined quality control standards are followed.
Organising relevant training for all operators and best practice is shared across all working shifts.
Organising workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
Estimating costs and preparing budgets
Monitor production to resolve issues
Working with and leading the site engineering team to develop a maintenance plan and schedule for equipment.
Develop supplier relationships with specialist resource and suppliers of spare parts.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Full understanding of design and production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work
Proven track record within manufacturing management
Ability to design processes and layouts
Clear communications and understanding of basic operational instructions (both written and oral). Maintaining extremely good and clear communication channels.
Engages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working together.
Possess the ability to lead and motivate a team of people to succeed by utilising appropriate interpersonal styles including leading by example, setting objectives and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction
