Behavioral Teaching Assistant - Secondary school - Newport - Full time September

£10.20 - £13 per hour

A large mixed secondary school based in Newport are recruiting a behavioral teaching assistant for the new school year. The school require a behavioral TA to help and mentor challenging students with complex behavioural difficulties. Experience within a teaching assistant role or a coaching/carer role is essential. It is an advantage if the successful candidate is Team Teach trained, however we offer free training on Team Teach and a range of other CPD courses.

It is important that the candidate has the right attitude, that they use their own initiative and that they are calm and confident while dealing with challenging situations. Through working as a Behaviour Mentor/ Teaching Assistant, you will be required to support students within a classroom setting on a 1:1 basis and must be committed to supporting their academic development in a confident, consistent manner as well as encouraging good behaviour and helping manage the student's discipline.

The school is a large mixed secondary school-based Newport. The school has a capacity for 1450 pupils and has recently been redeveloped and benefited from a new £29 million school building. The school has state of the art learning facilities and equipment from interactive white boards to Apple mac computers.
